Queensland’s peak industry body for caravanning, Caravanning Queensland, is thrilled to introduce VAN JAM™, a brand-new, Australian-first music festival and caravanning / RV experience set to raise the bar on family weekend and camping getaways.  

Over three days, thousands of caravan and RV owners will descend upon the popular Willowbank Raceway in Ipswich, about 50 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD, and revel in an Australian rock showcase, featuring some of the country’s top artists and emerging talents.  

Giving ‘cara-fans’ and rock enthusiasts an opportunity to relish in their dual-passions, the homegrown line up of talent is a celebration of Australian rock music, old and new with a first-round set list that includes: 

Music is just one piece of the VAN JAM™ multiverse. Alongside the VAN JAM mainstage, will be a treasure trove of experiences awaiting every family crew member including the little ones. 

An all-inclusive event that turns up the volume on family fun, VAN JAM™ presents a unique opportunity for parents to introduce their kids to the ‘family festival life’. And making a special appearance is no other than children’s television rock star, Bluey! 

Coined miniVAN, a dedicated children’s festival will also run concurrently with the VAN JAM™ festival, where kids of all ages can rock out participating in a wide variety of arts, crafts and activities. In addition, a fully supervised, paid child-minding service, will give parents an opportunity to enjoy the music and festivities, child-free.  

Bluey will come to life at the event’s miniVAN with an on-stage appearance and meet and greet.  

Festival creator and CEO of Caravan Trade and Industries Association of Queensland, Jason Plant said the inaugural event has been created for anyone and everyone who enjoys the outdoors, live music and the caravanning lifestyle.   

“VAN JAM has been a passion project for quite some time and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most exciting industry events of the year,” Plant said.  

“It’s a celebration of Australian music and its strong connection with millions of camping and outdoor fans. We really want this event to bring together these two elements with a variety of entertainment options including art installations, workshops and games.  

“And I love that we can open this up to families with miniVAN – a perfect place for kids to have fun, enjoy the outdoors and make new friends,” he adds. 

But that’s not all! The experts at Caravanning Queensland, renowned for organising major industry events that showcase the latest and greatest in all things caravanning and camping, will also bring to VAN JAM™ an exciting array of caravan and camping displays at the off road off grid expo! 

The expo will give attendees the added opportunity of viewing and learning about the very best “Off-Road / Off-Grid” caravanning and RV products and technologies on offer, which may be inspired by what they see from other campers whilst making their way through the festival campsites.  

VAN JAM™ will also feature an entire area dedicated to hands-on demos, must-see caravanning and safety workshops and a massive Off Road proving ground spanning the entire festival weekend.  

“The beauty about the Willowbank venue and location is that it enables us to create a truly interactive and immersive experience where we can make the noise, demonstrate the latest4x4 vehicles and Off Road RV’s, with minimal restriction and increase flexibility,” Plant added.  

Willowbank is also close enough to all the major population centres of South East Queensland, meaning a tank of fuel will get you there and home again without breaking the bank!
